21. Events

Ovrimos events are abnormal or unusual conditions that provoke user notification.

For the time being, the database administrator (user admin) is notified by mail, about the following events:

1.
A failed login, due to an excessive number of connections:

License exceeded in failed login from <host> as username <user>

The maximum number of concurrent connections had been reached and it is not possible now to open the requested connection.

2.
A failed login, due to an erroneous user name.

Failed login from <host> as username <user>

Either the user has misspelled the username, or somebody is attempting to guess a username.

3.
A failed login, due to an erroneous password.

Failed authentication from from <host> as username <user>

Either the user has misspelled the password, or somebody is attempting to guess the password.

All of the above are mail messages sent to the mailbox attached to user admin. See Create User in B.4.2.Supported SQL Statements.

Mail messages are currently sent as soon as an event occurs and as many times as the event has occurred. Therefore, an administrator may see several mail messages about the same failed login (as many as the attempts the user has made).

In feature releases, we expect a better treatment of events, as well as an enrichment of events and a parameterization of notification. User admin will then choose at will which events will generate mail messages and which will not.
